'Crafting' Residencies & Follow-ups
Fernanda Eugenio | Applications open permanently
Crafting Residencies Programme welcomes artists and researchers who wish to apply MO_AND tools to projects of creation, investigation or mediation dedicated to the intersectional question of researching new forms of life emerging from the encounter between differences, at the injunction of ethics, aesthetics, politics and community.
Focused on facilitating the fine-tuning of the formulation and execution of a work in progress or on offering assistance to the practice and focused studies of the MO_AND, this programme seeks to make the residency-situation a space for crafting the singular questions brought by the candidate. Diverging from the logic of solution and the directive function of the advisor, the follow up consists of listening and unraveling, together with each resident, the affect-motor of each project. The tools of Modus Operandi AND, in its crafty dimension, are used in the mapping, making explicit and re-materialising of affects, thus working to maintain the project in the in-between zone of ‘how not to have an idea’.

COLLECTIVE ASSISTED RESIDENCY | ANNUAL EDITION AT AND LAB SPACE Lisbon
The Collective Assisted Residency takes place once a year, in April, at AND Lab Space in Lisbon.
This 10-day residency provides an environment of concentration and focus, while allowing work to be interspersed with socialising among peers, or the activities and programming of AND Lab.
In 2025, the residency will run from 1 to 11 April.
Up to 3 individual or group projects will be selected for personalised accompaniment by Fernanda Eugenio, through exclusive one-to-one sessions for each project, interspersed with autonomous work time in the studio.
The process begins with a collective introductory workshop, in which the creation tools of the Modus Operandi AND are shared, and the exclusive moments for each project are interspersed with regular practice of the AND Game, in collective mode.
Applications are open on a rolling basis, but the inclusion of projects in the next annual edition will be subject to analysis on a first-come, first-served basis until the number of places is reached.
Artists and/or researchers from any field can apply, with creation and/or mediation projects, either in their embrionary or already in the development phase.
It is not essential to have had previous contact with the Modus Operandi AND in order to take part.
The price, with all activities included + accommodation for one person, is 1000 euros. If the project is a group project, 150 euros per extra person is added for accommodation.
So that the amount is not an impediment, it is possible to apply for grants to access partial amounts, to be defined on a case-by-case basis, together with the person or group proposing.
The Collective Assisted Residency includes shared accommodation in a residency space in the centre of Lisbon (with double bedrooms, bathroom and equipped kitchen), as well as the organisation of a final public sharing session of the process, open to the local public.
